Sarah Agar-Brennan from Love Bomb Cushions featured on this week’s episode of the BBC Two programme Dragons’ Den.
Love Bomb Cushions pitched for investment from the notorious Dragons and were successful having three opportunities to consider.
After getting off to a positive start with a well-considered pitch Touker Suleyman and Deborah Meaden were quick to grill Sarah on her projections and route to market to achieve them. Their highly tuned business acumen soon brought Sarah to her knees.
Peter Jones then stepped in to pose questions about previous business successes. Sarah was forced to reveal her son’s tragic death and that following 7 years of hanging on after the tragedy Sarah chose to sell her previous business and retreat to heal.
Fighting back tears Sarah’s bravery to recount the story was recognised by Peter Jones compassionate response.
New Dragons Jenny Campbell and Tej Lalvanni saw the potential in Love Bomb Cushions and Sarah’s ability to turn around the fortunes of the company making her a joint offer, which she accepted.
In summing up Peter Jones also made Sarah an offer complementing her on her ability to overcome the tragedy and had no doubt that her new venture would succeed.
